About This Item

New York, New York, U.S.A.: Barnes & Noble, Inc., 1999. First Thus . Hardcover. VG+/Fine. Gorey, Edward. Fantastic DJ cover art by Edward Gorey. Traces the history & evolution of Scotland Yard in London & its investigation of various notorious crimes, including Jack the Ripper, serial killer Dennis Nilsen, child killer Constance Kent, IRA terrorists, drug lords, & more. In 278 pages with Index. The First Printing of this special edition from Barnes & Noble from 1999 (First, thus), this hardcover 8vo has a black half-cloth spine with red paper over the remaining boards. Downgraded to VG+ because it is an Ex-Lib copy, with minimal stamps & markings in front matter & to top & bottom outside page edges. Red paper on both boards is torn where tape that had affixed old DJ library mylar was removed. The DJ itself is Fine: virtually flawless & protected in brand new clear mylar cover to stay that way! A nice edition to any Gorey collection! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific); later orders, Weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
