Salt Lake City, Utah: Deseret Book Company, 1997. This First Edition, with a "number line" ending in a "1" to indicate First Printing, is in Fine condition with a Very Good+ unclipped dust jacket. (Click on photo.) Historian Carol Madsen makes use of period journals to tell the story of the Mormon pioneers in their own words as they crossed the country to find their new Zion in the West. The book is bound in beige boards with a black spine, gilt reverse lettering on the front panel and gilt lettering on the spine. The book appears not to have been read. The dust jacket shows some light shelf wear and rubbing. The book measures 6 1/2 by 9 1/4 inches and include 750 pages, with Index.
