The first volume is a detailed history of the East Bay-San Francisco trains, ferries and buses. The second volume tells how the railroad operated, covering the shops, interlocking towers, power system, signals and terminals, and documents all of the transbay rail rolling stock. 328 pages, total, with numerous photographs, maps, bibliography, index and rosters plus several foldout diagrams of rolling stock. Errata sheet for Part One laid in. Part One has a small owner's stamp on the reverse of the front endpaper, else fine in fine and bright dust jacket with one short tear. Part two is fine in fine and bright dust jacket with one short tear. An attractive set.
