Volume 1 of Newman's 3 Volume Chronicle of the Hudson Bay Company in Canada A vivid and dramatic account of the people and events that determined the destiny of a continent. Bound in blue cloth, silver; very clean and unmarked; tight, solid, square; light scuffing to lower board edges, else fine. Endpapers have a map in blue and gray tones showing the Posts of the Canadian Fur Trade 1600-1870. Internals Fine, clean, no markings, not toned. Frontis, p. ii: Map of the Forts of the Hudson's Bay Company and p. vi, Pierre-Esprit Radisson, Sketch by Belier, 1785. Jacket has light edgewear, small closed tear on rear upper edge, and a small scuff on the front-it is clean and bright, with illustration of a sailing vessel. 450 pages with Appendices, Key to Illustrations, Chapter Notes, Bibliography and Index. 7 x 10 inches. 1986, Viking/ Penguin Books, Ontario, Canada.
