Eric Gill was one of the major English artist-craftsmen of the 20th century. Well-known as a type designer, sculptor and engraver, he was also pre-eminent as a letter carver, producing some of the most elegant inscriptions ever seen. Over 900 irems are known, and are catalogued here. Extensive appendices, Bibliography.
