This book presents Archanes that have become a first class archaeological site and have endured through all the stages of the prehistoric Minoan civilisation and the historical years. The three chapters following the introduction present the Central Palace, the Cemetery at Fourni and the Sanctuary. In a lush green valley at a small distance from Herakleion and Knossos lies Archanes, an ideal site through which to comprehend minoan civilization.
