About This Item

Philadelphia: The University Museum University of Pennsylvania, 1993. First edition. Hardcover. near fine. Quarto. xxviii (i), 272, xiv (i)pp., 168 Figures, 63 plates. Original orange cloth with gilt lettering on cover and spine. Illustrated cream endpapers. Frontispiece photograph. "The results of various lines of inquiry showed that the original architectural plans of the levels (Maps 1, 2), with only minor changes (e. g. several Late VII wall rebuilds in the southeastern sector), were essentially correct (cf. James 1966: xiv). Even the most thorough reanalysis, however, cannot make up for equivocal and unrecorded data. Uncertainty still exists about the makeup of some floors, walls, and other features (whether of stone, mudbrick, plaster, or hard-packed clay); the orientation and dimensions of some loci (see pp. 48-53, 62-67); and the levels of some walls, floors, thresholds, and other features..." (Author). Profusely illustrated with b/w photographs, drawings of pottery, jewelry and figurines as well as tables. Contains list of maps (3), tables (14), figures (168) and plates (68). Binding and interior in overall near fine condition.
