Denby Dale: The Fleece Press, 1995. This volume tells the story of T.E. Lawrence in Bridlington. Introduced by Richard Knowles, FSA, with a note by Phil Clabburn. Designed and printed by Simon Lawrence at his Fleece Press, Denby Dale. This is the edition limited to just 50 copies signed by both Richard Knowles and the printer/owner of the Fleece Press Simon Lawrence. Tall octavo, blue quarter leather with pale grey paper covered boards blind stamped TES. In a pale grey slipcase with blue edging as issued. 47 pages, composed in 11 pt. Caslon, and printed letterpress in two colours on Zerkall paper. Illustrated with 14 tipped-in photographs. In this special edition there is an original photographic print taken from the restored glass negative of TE in uniform taken in Flamborough by Ian Deheer. The whole edition was limited to 400 copies, this is one of the 50 specials, few were signed. A printing of an anonymous account, with Introduction, detailing the latter part of Lawrence's RAF career and life, when he was posted as an aircraftman to Bridlington from November 1934 to February 1935. This is an exceptionally elegant edition of a useful account of this part of TEs life and contains excellent photographs, tipped in as frontispiece, the one printed from the original glass plate negative of TE in uniform at Ian Deheer's garden (this edition also has an original photographic print of this), Flamborough and two versions (one previously unpublished) of the photograph of TE leaving Bridlington on his pushbike. A matching volume to the scarce the Fleece Press' "Sayings and Doings of T E Lawrence". An interesting account of Lawrence of Arabia's time in Yorkshire. A hard to find edition..
