Tagli dorati. Minime usure. Volume 1: Volume the first; containing the Little Saint Bernard, the mont Genèvre, the Mont Cenis, the mont Saint Gothard, the Great Saint Bernard, and the monte Stelvio. Di 92 pagine, con 48 illustrazioni incise su acciaio e 6 carte geografiche. -Volume 2: Volume the second, containing the Cornice, the Grimsel and the Gries, the Bernardin and the Splugen, the Brenner, the Tende and the Argentiere, and the Simplon. Di 104 pagine, con 48 illustrazioni incise su acciaio e 7 carte geografiche (una su doppia pagina). In totale quindi 96 incisioni e 13 carte geografiche su carta forte. Incisori delle tavole: E. Finden, W. Wallis, J. Kernot, T. Jeavons, J. C. Varrall, T. Barber, J. T. Willmore, J. Redaway, S. Rawle, R. Brandard, J. Cousen, C. Westwood; su disegni dell'Autore; carte geografiche incise da A. Arrowsmith. Sul frontespizio compaiono altri 6 editori, oltre all'Autore. Qualche rara fioritura, ma esemplare molto buono di questa ricercata prima edizione. Due ex libris incollati al retro dei piatti, uno inglese (Archibald Hamilton Duthie) ed uno valdese. William Brockedon, member of the Academy of Fine Arts at Florence, cominciò i suoi percorsi pittorici delle Alpi per la prima volta nel 1824; poi ritornò sui valichi alpini 58 volte.
