Illustrated with numerous black and white drawings, reprinting for the first tine the enchanting 'Alice' illustrations of Peter Newell. First edition, first printing [using Random House method of number line beginning with "2" and the words first edition printed below. Subsequent printings saw the words first edition omitted leaving only the number line.] This updated version of both Lewis classics includes 170 new notes not included in the earlier work, the recent discovery of "Wasp in the Wig" episode originally omitted from "Through the Looking Glass" and more answers to Lewis riddles that will delight Carrollians. No previous ownership marks. A clean, tight, unmarked copy, near as new. Fine in a fine dust-jacket. .
