This book is a very in-depth biography of John Calhoun that blends both his political life and important parts of his private life for a much more complete picture of the man and the politician. The book's dust jacket is in Near Fine condition with only small wearing areas at the top of the spine and some bumping marks on the front cover keeping it from being like-new. The interior book is also in Fine condition with only the former owner's name at the top of the first page keeping it from being Like-New and thus all of the book's printing and its photographs are in a very well-preserved and enjoyable condition with no visible extraneous markings, detriments or distractions. The book's sewn-in bindings also are tight and therefore are sound.
