Bound in publisher's glossy color photographic boards; lacks dj, possibly issued w/o. Plain white endpapers. X pp prelim material, 75 numbered pp; [76] blank, [77-99] b&w plates (66 in number), [100-102] blank. Author's preface, list of maps and plans, list of photos (all by author); four sections: Nicomedia in Late Antiquity; Byzantine Nicomedia; The Fortifications of Nicomedia; Castles of the Gulf); abbreviations, bibliography. Condition notes: an unmarked copy with the following flaws: binding slightly cocked; heavy sunning to spine and head of boards; corners bumped, light soiling to edges. Nicomedia is modern Turkish Izmit. We personally inspect every book we offer.

Paul had been providing online booksales since 2008 through several popular online sales venues. In 2021 Paul was accepted as a member of the Independent Online Booksellers' Association (IOBA), and graduated from the annual Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS-Minnesota).
