Random House, 1958. Hardcover. Excellent. 8x5x1. W. T. Mars. Vintage Hardback Landmark Book is in Very Good Plus to Excellent condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. Inside text is in Excellent condition and appears to be unread and unused. Outside cloth covers are very nice. No Dust Jacket. Book has come from a private collection. Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting. Landmark Book #82. On March 24, 1945, a giant triple stream of transport planes, packed with Allied paratroops, poured across the skies of Central France. Behind them 1,347 flyers cruised silently in tow. Overhead roared a cloud of 5,000 fighters. The Rhine Valley was about to become the scene of the greatest air invasion ever witnessed.

Random House, 1958. Hardcover. Excellent. W. T. Mars. Vintage Hardback Landmark Book with Pictorial Cover is in Very Good condition with a tight binding and clean crisp internal pages. Inside text is in Excellent condition and appears to be unread. There is a stamp with an H in a circle in the bottom right hand corner of the first end page (This is a marking from Random House) and there is a small scuff area and small tear on the last end page in the top right hand corner at the inside spine. No writing or other markings in the book. Outside pictorial covers are nice with some outside corner wear. No Dust Jacket as this is the pictorial cover edition. Outside cloth covers are nice with sharp corners. Dust Jacket is in Very Good condition with some minor soiling to the back cover and some minor edge chipping, but overall nice.
