About This Item
UK,12mo paperback original,p/back 1st edn.[Paperback original denotes the first format and its first appearance in print of the book/title. Paperbacks usually follow on from the HB edn,but can be published at the same time as the HB edn,but p/back originals are published prior to any other format.] FINE.No owner inscrptn,an unread copy with no spine/backstrip creases.Colour imaging by Black Sheep,to original colour artwork wraps (Krill) by Mike Tucker with TVM logo; with negligible shelf- wear to edges,no bumping/creasing to either head or foot of spine/ backstrip.Top+fore-edges very, very slightly aged - less so than normal - but clean, contents bright, tight and near pristine - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners. 'The Krill are pure rage.Pure aggression. There is nothing for me to reason with, nothing that I can appeal to.By now there must be millions of them out there, and I don't know how to stop them.' The water world of Coralee is the showpiece planet of the colonies - two suns, unspoilt beaches and a thriving tourist culture. The Doctor and Ace arrive intending to have a proper holiday, but when the Doctor joins an archeological expedition conducting a dig at a sunken temple,he soon realises that, beneath the surface, something is very wrong. An ancient and terrible weapon has been revived and every living creature on the planet is at risk.Who are the aliens that wait in the asteroid field? What is the mysterious creature that stalks the shadows of the colonies? Who has unleashed the devastating power of the Krill? Out in the deep ocean there is a storm brewing, and the Doctor is not sure if anyone will survive. Featuring the 7th Doctor (McCoy) and Ace,this story takes place after the BBC Doctor Who novel 'MATRIX'. In 1995,with the production of a new Dr WHO film underway and a new series in the offing,BBC Worldwide declined renewing Virgin Publishing's licence to publish original Doctor Who novels, picking them up themselves. In June 1996,they started their range with Terrance Dicks' 'The Eight Doctors' and Keith Topping+Martin Day's 'The Devil Goblins from Neptune',of which this is the 23rd title from this series.Initial editor was Nuala Buffini, overseeing the first six or so releases before leaving to join Hodder Headline.Steve Cole then took over the reins of the BBC series, leaving in 2000,and replaced by Justin Richards. The BBC released two novels a month, except for December. An exceptional copy of an out-of-print title.See also rja2135, rja2136 and rja2138-rja2143 inclusive, for other paperback novels with TVM logo.
