About This Item

Penguin Books, 2003. First printing. Paperback. Very Good. A very rare First Edition and first printing with 1 in number line. 563 pp. isbn 0143018671 Publisher: Penguin, 2003. I don't know how many were first issued bu this is the first one I have seen in 5 years. Penguin seem to issue very short runs to test the market then reprint when some demand shows - most of the first printings get absorbed by the public libraries so there are few in the original state. fine 2003 penguin paperback with original cover, highly regarded historical overview of New Zealand by the late Michael King. fine copy, uncreased/unmarked. New Zealand was the last country in the world to be discovered and settled by humankind and the first to introduce a full democracy. This title tells the country's story and reveals how an insulated and dependent British colony transformed itself into an independent nation
