About This Item

Perseus Books Group / Da Capo Press, 1995. Paperback. Near Fine. This De Capo Press paperback edition of Hannibal is an unabridged republication of the edition first published in Boston in 1891. "It was an excellent idea to reintroduce Americans to this 104-year-old book, which has never been bettered. It is called Hannibal and says a lot about him, but it is also a story of Roman-Carthaginian relations from the beginning--a valuable enterprise, since the losing side hardly ever gets a fair deal from writers. As for Hannibal himself, Theodore Ayrault Dodge tackles the extraordinary fact that in spite of the shattering victories of this marvelous general in the Second Punic War, he never succeeded in conquering Rome. Read this book and it is possible to see why." -- Michael Grant. Book is near fine, with little edge wear, but careless handling has created a curve to the book. There is a small faint stain to leading page block. The book doesn't look as if it's been read.

About Trolls Treasure

Home-based, online sales only. I am running out of space to keep my collection of books, but I cannot bypass any chance offered at searching out some interesting venue offering books. I dithered for quite some time over this problem, and went right on buying books, until it occurred to me that I could make room for new purchases if I started selling some of my books. So, here I am, a small business, but offering personal service. Happy to answer questions.
