Honeywood, 278 pages + [2] About the Author. Rita Dove (born 1952) is an American poet, professor of Creative Writing at UVa, Charlottesville, essayist, and author. She is the first African American to have been appointed Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress.
