The only pugilist to have been awarded a knighthood was this British heavyweight boxer lost bouts to Muhammad Ali in 1963 and 1966; he boxed in the 1952 Summer Olympics at Helsinki, held the European heavyweight title for three years and the British and Commonwealth heavyweight title for twelve years. Bold signature in black fineline, heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., dated by him 14 October 1986 at upper right. Fine. With original envelope.
