Manuscript account book recording details of a number of voyages for cargo ships working the Atlantic coast, primarily from Nova Scotia to points south (Phila., Puerto Rico, etc.) , c. 1850's. Largely unresearched , 15 x 10 inches.
Marbled stiff paper covers, stitched, with a large illustrated trade card label on front panel, for William H.C. Riggs., 126 South Front, near Dock, Phila. "Chronometers, Clocks, Watches, Nautical Instruments, Books, Charts, &c." 21 leaves, including a dozen or so blank pages; 1 loose; lacking a few pages; 2 pages covered with N. S. newspaper clippings. Entries in ink and graphite. Columns generally include H/K/H & F [Hours /Knots or Half-Knots & Fathoms]; Course/ Winds and Remarks.
