Octavo; 159 pp. Blind-stamped brown cloth binding with lettering stamped in gold on spine.Yellow endpapers. Cover frayed on edges and rubbed. Spine slightly rolled. Manuscript note on on front free endpaper states: "Henry Brown / Key West / Dec 5 1863 / U.S.S. Powhatan West India Squadron." Pages toned from age with some markings in pencil in margins. Front and rear hinges starting, but binding still feels secure.
