New York: Random House 1959. (Hardcover) 444pp. Very good, no dust jacket. Beige cloth with a red, black and gilt title to the spine. Top edge stained dark blue, red textured endpapers. The spine is lightly cocked and darkened and there is a previous owner's name on the front free endpaper. "That afternoon, I went to work at the music store as usual. It was just around the corner from where we lived, and I worked there every afternoon from three o'clock until seven, while its owner, a violin and piano teacher on the side, gave the lessons which more or less supported the store" - from the text.
