It suggests that Europe is drifting slowly towards an 'awful catastrophe'. Written pre First World War this text suggests that Europe's unbalanced state was having and will have catastrophic consequences that will damage European relations. This text raises very important questions and understanding it with hindsight shows the extent to which society was cornered. With a frontispiece of Wilhelm II. Bound in the original publisher's cloth. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally generally firmly bound. Pages 15 to 48 working loose. Offsetting to the front pastedown. The pages are bright and clean. Pencil annotation to the half title. Marginal age toning. Very Good
