LONDON: MICHAEL JOSEPH, 1982 Burgundy cloth quarter binding with silver blocked titles grey paper covered boards, 260 x 190 mm approx. 256 pp.Frontis map + 315 others drawn by the author and 48 b/w photos. (Dust Jacket states 60) NB - we have inspected the book closely, all pages are present and there is no evidence of any images having been removed). Double columnar text. First Edition 1982. The copy offered is warmly inscribed to John by the author in blue ink to the front free end paper with the book plate of Cynthia and John Barnes of Hurstpierpoint to the front paste down. The late Sir John Barnes was British Ambassador to the Netherlands and previously Israel. We had the privileged of purchasing many of the books from the family library. Very Good/ Near Fine (Book- mild foxing to edges of book block and a few light foxing spots to front free end paper.Author inscription and book plate as above. Dust Jacket - negligible shelf rubbing, non price clipped - cover £9.95 very mild crease to bottom corner of front flap fold. No other defects to book or jacket).
