London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1925. 1st Edition . Very Good. 5.75 x 8.75 inches (15 x 22 cm). Red cloth binding with a few light marks to boards. Foxing to page edges, very clean text throughout. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown endpaper and pencilled name to front free endpaper (Henry Courtney Brocklehurst). Fascinating work on the prison service during the early 1900's. Thomson served as governor of several prisons (including Wormwood Scrubs) and later became the head of CID at New Scotland Yard. Scarce. Overall condition is Very Good. Size: 5.75 x 8.75 inches (15 x 22 cm). Hardback. Printed pages: vii, 223
