Jonathan Cape, 1947. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1947. First edition thus. 198 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth. Black and white illustrations by the author throughout. Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be slightly loose, however pages remain attached. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Previous owner's pen inscription to front free endpaper. Slight marks to pastedowns. Boards have light shelf-wear with moderate corner bumping. Heavy tanning to spine and edges with moderate crushing to spine ends. Very slight splits to joint ends. Patchy brown staining and areas of sunning to both boards. Gilt lettering is fairly bright. Book has a moderate forward lean.
