Poet, critic, and academic Padraic Colum (1881-1972) was an important figure in the Irish Literary Renaissance; he emigrated to America prior to the Irish Revolution, where he had a long and distinguished career. "The Fiddler's House" (1903) was is first play; "The Land" (1905) was a great success. This is a Very good copy of the First edition. brown paper-covered boards with a linen spine; green titling on both; pages untrimmed. Clean text; 115 pages; frontis portrait of Colum by Jack B. Yeats. The initial production dates/cast lists are in the rear.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
