The first edition of this touching poem following a year in the life of a garden, by Vita Sackville-West. The first edition, first impression.In the original unclipped dust wrapper.A person and symbolic poem by Vita Sackville-West, set against the backdrop of World War Two, following the seasonal life of a garden.Written by the noted Bloomsbury author Vita Sackville-West, well known today for her friendship and relationship with fellow author, Virginia Woolf. Sackville-West provided the inspiration for Woolf's beloved novel 'Orlando'. Sackville-West was also a noted garden designer at her house Sissinghurst, the garden of which is still celebrated today. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart, with some light marks to the boards. Very minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light edge wear to the dust wrapper, with a small chips to the head of the spine, and a closed tear to the tail of the front wrap. Surface loss to the front joint. Spine is age-toned. A few light handing marks to the wraps, including some scattered spots. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good
