Illustrated with a frontispiece, seventeen plates, and many in-text figures. Collated complete. A topographical guide to the Hastings Road for the motorist, cyclist, and pedestrian. With historical commentary and points of interest from London Bridge, through Polhill, Sevenoaks, and Lamberhurst, to Hastings Old Town. Written and illustrated by Charles George Harper, an English author and illustrator known for his self-illustrated travel books, including those exploring the regions, roads, coastlines, literary connections, and old inns of Britain. In the original yellow cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Front hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with minor age toning to the extremities. Light scattered spotting to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown. Very Good
