CAPE TOWN: THE REMBRANDT VAN RIJN FOUNDATION FOR CULTURE FOR THE NATIONAL MONUMENTS COUNCIL, 1972 Pale Grey buckram cloth boards with brown blocked titles to spine, 285 x 215 mm approx. xxii + 354 pp. 12 full colour plates , 20 line maps all as called for + 260 monochrome illustrations (per flap fold). Double columnar text in English - Translated from the Afrikaans by B D Malan. The copy offered has a presentation plate to the front free end paper signed by Anton Rupert the late South African businessman, philanthropist, and conservationist who founded the publishing foundation. Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale for further details and condition. Near Fine/ Fair(Book - a little dust spotting to top edge of book block, presentation plate as above. Dust Jacket- significant tear and associated creasing to rear panel which a previous owner has repaired on the reverse with cellotape, moderate rubbing to extremities including nicks of up to 5 mm approx to corner tips, no notable soiling and non price clipped R15-00. Now in a removable proprietary protective sleeve to prevent further degradation. No other notable defects to book or jacket).
