DUTCH EDITION IN 4 LANGUAGES, French, English, Dutch and German, circa 1682. 4to, approximately 240 x 170 mm, 9½ x 7 inches, 41 engravings including the plan and entrance to Versailles, the illustrattions based on Aesop's Fables, text of Charles Perrault and plates with preceeding page of 4 verses by Isaac de Benserade in 4 languages. Pages: [22], 1-81, [5], 1-79, [9], bound in full contemporary vellum. Binding soiled and spotted, spine rubbed with slight loss of vellum, pale staining affecting lower margins of pages 75-82 with pale tide marks, not affecting text, and pale staining to lower margins of plates 77 & 78, not affecting images, pale show-through to verso of engraved plates, occasional small mark or spot, otherwise a good copy. Descriptions of the designs for fountains at the Versailles Labyrinth.The French original descriptions by Charles Perrault, and verses by I. de Benserade, with an English version by J.
