Under the pseudonym, "Clarence Young,'' author Howard Garis mad his debut writing for the Stragemeyer Syndicate (his wife, Lillian, would assist on some of the books in the corresponding "Motor Girl" series). Orig. published in 1909, this is a slightly later printing (listing to Book #9 in front matter) with the second cover-art design. In 244 pages with ads for other series in rear, glossy frontis + 3 internals. Condition is Poor: water damage & sever bleaching to lower parts of both covers & spine, some dampstaining inside. Text block secure, cracked rear hinge, with paper loss. Former owner's name in neat pen to ffep; NO other writing/underlining/highlighting; not ex-lib.
