Notes, bibliography, index. Condition notes: a very good first printing: moderate wear/rubbing to dustjacket; handsome boards lightly worn, tail spine end rolled, tail corners bumped. Former owner's name, neatly, to front free endpaper. Else unmarked. Takes up the question of how Russians, and others who found themselves part of the Russian Empire and, later, Soviet Union, "cope[d] with loss and bereavement [of 20th century losses through revolutions, wars, genocide, famine, and so on] on such a vast scale?" Furrowed Brow Books was established in 2020. The bookstore's owner, Paul Purman, grew up in an old farmhouse full of books. Paul had been providing online booksales since 2008 through several popular online sales venues. In 2021 Paul was accepted as a member of the Independent Online Booksellers' Association (IOBA), and graduated from the annual Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS-Minnesota).
