Nan Shipley is the author of several works of popular history as well as short stories and radio/TV scripts. This work draws on original letters and papers and archival material to tell the story of one of Manitoba's oldest communities, now part of metropolitan Winnipeg. Many b & w photographs. The DJ is a colour painting of a pioneering scene by Patricia Wheeler. Book is VG+, clean and solid; unclipped DJ shows some rubbing along folds ad edges but overall VG-.
