London: Macmillan and Co., 1883. Two novellas. "Madame de Mauves" dates from 1874, while the "Siege of London" was new, published first in a magazine the same year as this edition. The American edition by Osgood paired "London" with a different work. This is a Near Fine copy of the First English Edition. Blue cloth binding; ruled in gilt on the front cover, with gilt titling on the spine. Clean text; 197 pages. Previous-owner penciled notes (1915) on the FFEP; another penciled note on the paste-down. Very clean and bright; a tiny bit of rub at margins, else a Fine copy. A lovely little book. In an archival plastic protector. . First UK Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
