First suggested by Walt Whitman in 1863  a book about his Civil War experiences (including poems) but was never published in his lifetime. A little creasing of the book corners with a small chip to the top right-hand corner of the rear panel; the rear panel edge has a few small chips. Rubbing of the other book edges and of the panels. Age toning of the text block edges and pages. Fine foxing to the text block edges and to the first few and last few pages of the book. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
