Thick 8vo, green cloth, gilt spine titled and ruled. Gift inscription to FFEP from church to its pastor; extremities show some light rubbing, a few foxing marks to head, small tear to gutter of final index page, sound and square otherwise; DJ is edgeworn with large chips at both ends of spine, now wrapped in mylar. I-V printing code for September, 1946. Landmark study of dynamics of race detailing obstacles to full participation of African-American in American society by the Swedish economist and Nobel-prize winner. Cited extensively in the Brown v. Board of Education decision. Nearly all public-policy issues touching on race through the civil-rights era were framed by this study.
