Bill Lawrence was a teacher at my school that is referenced in this book from 1972 to 1975 (my years there...he was there longer). I lived what he is speaking about in this book, from the upper room to the baptisms to my friend Harriet finding out prayer works (it really does!) when she prayed with Mr. Lawrence and heard the news she would become a cheerleader. This book is an awesome true life experience of a man who through the power of Jesus changed many lives in my high school including mine! Oh the joy that came over that school when he walked in... Prayer groups continued in the upper room ( a classroom) during lunch and my house during and after he was a teacher there. I have been looking for him for many years since but cannot find him to let him know how much he meant to us and how the power of prayer changed our lives. This book is a testimony to how young lives can be changed forever, and how a young black man who was told to go home the first day, walked in with Jesus, and the school was never the same! I want to thank him for not leaving and believing. I would see him and he would just point his finger up as to say...that's all that matters...look up! This book is a testimony to that and to what Jesus can do in the lives of many if one man is willing to be used by God. Margie (I am 54 years old now...at the time I was 14). I have shared this book with many including my 5 children.
