Presentation copy, signed and inscribed by Zane Grey to noted singer & actor Rudy Vallee, radio host, one of America's first teen idols: 'To Rudy Vallee In appreciation of a pleasant night at the Grove and your great show. Zane Grey.' A great presentation copy, associating two famous Hollywood figures. Although Vallee was best known as a singer and radio host, he starred in dozens of films over decades. Grey's scripts and novels were the basis of some 112 films, and he founded his own motion picture company (later sold to Jesse Lasky). Chatwin Books for Arundel Books, 2020. First Edition. Unknown. New. Oversized Folio. One of 250 numbered copies signed by artist Amanda Joyce Bishop. This stunning, colorful broadside, with its uplifting message was issued in support of Seattle's Indie bookstore Arundel Books during the events of 2020. The inspiring text by Neil Gaiman appears through his gracious courtesy and that of Writers House. The broadside is printed on a heavy stock, and is suitable for framing.

Copy #111 of 250 numbered copies printed by Walter Hamady at Perishable Press in handset Palatino on Medway paper. Attractively bound in quarter blue morocco over burgundy cloth, spine titled in blind (spine a trifle sunned; very faint traces of wear to edges).

The exact relationship between the two publications cannot be determined.

Attractively bound in 3/4 burgundy morocco over marbled boards, spines with gilt-tooled raised bands and gilt floral devices, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers (has some rubbing, and nicking to spine tips of several volumes). W. Strahan, et al., 1773. First Thus. Leather. Used - Very Good. The Fourth edition, last to be revised by Samuel Johnson himself. A solid set. A very good copy of this huge folio set in 19th-century 3/4 brown calf over marbled boards, spine with raised bands and red morocco labels (some wear to leather, corners bumped; some dampstaining, smudges, and foxing to text; old repair to botton margin of title of Volume I). Housed in very sturdy brown cloth slipcases, lined with fleece (some waterstaining and wear to slipcases).

World Book Company, 1922. First Edition. Hardcover. Used - Very Good. A SUPERB PRESENTATION COPY, signed by Ezra Meeker in his shaky hand, and with a secretarial inscription to noted Northwest pioneer and author Clarence B. Bagley (with Bagley's bookplate). This inscription links two of the great figures of Seattle's early history, and would be a high-spot in any collection. A very good copy in the original grey-blue pictorial cloth, stamped in yellow and green (some wrinkling to cloth at top of spine; minor wear to edges).

A stunning set in gift condition. Each volume features a color frontispiece by Edmund Dulac.

Hemingway's signature is crisp, clear, and authentic. First edition, first printing of book ('A' on copyright page); and first issue jacket (omitting photographer's name) complete with $2.75 price. [10], 471 pp Hanneman A18A. The jacket is pristine and crisp, having ony the slightest hints of wear to edges and a faint pencil price on the flap. The book itself is near fine,having only slight darkening to the spine and the usual offset to endpapers. According to Hanneman 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' is the most popular of all of Hemingway's works.
