Stated first edition of this wildly popular and seminal work which sold over a million copies and remained no. 1 on the Times bestseller list for months. The pages are in near new condition. The only flaw I could find was that a previous owner (presumably) printed "John Irving " at the top of the first fly leaf. The cover and spine are in excellent condition except for some light shelf wear at the top and bottom of the spine, also at the tip of the upper corner of the front cover and an air bubble crease on the inside front cover..The back page of the dust jacket is missing. Remaining Dj has some minor tears around edges. It is un-clipped, showing the $12.50 price. There is also a cardboard bookmark from a bookstore in Burlington Vermont.

First U.S. Edition.In hard white cloth-board cover with some darkening on spine. Slipcase is missing top and bottom so it serves as a book cover/dust jacket. It is almost falling apart Pages are in excellent condition, without any blemishes. 32 page essay is followed by about 100 pages of illustrations on high quality paper. Includes 16 full page color lithographs of bull fighting scenes as well as many monochromatic plates. Dimensions: 14.75 x 11"

This is the author's revised edition, Agapida Edition, published in 1893. 2 volumes Beautiful books in light cream colored leather binding , high quality deckled pages and lovely Moorish gilt designs on the cover and spine. Each page is framed with Moorish scroll work. The photos throughout the books are covered with glassine paper. There is some darkening, due to age, along the beveled edges of the covers and the first few pages of vo. 1. Also an inscription and signature, dated 1937 on the third flyleaf page of vol. 1.. Otherwise, the book is in fine - near new condition.

Signed dedication (all in caps) by the author on title page: "To Ralph and Jane Two of the most delightful and charming persons that I have had the good fortune to meet. And with sincere admiration for Jane as an artist! Her paintings are artistic gems -" Book dimensions: 8 x 8.5". Black and white reproductions of Cooper's paintings and drawings throughout the book. Chapters on the character of the city land materials and techniques. Dj is slightly worn with some spotting and minor tears along edges. Dj clipped at lower front inset.

Macmillan's "Peoples Edition" in green cloth, with an illustration of Alice and Humpty Dumpty on the front cover, whose colors have mostly worn off. "Sixteenth thousand" appears on the The pages are clear, without tears of Marks (except for a signature and date and some shadowing on the first fly-leaf page). The covers have very slight shelf wear, except for some chipping at the top and bottom of the spine. However it does show rubbing and spotting.Following the numbered pages this edition includes teh poem, "Christmas Greeting," a listing of other works by Carroll and a hand-written specimen page from the manuscript that became Alice in Wonderland.

.This book is in excellent condition except for two major faults: a section of the first illustration page and the title page has been torn out. The missing section for both pages measure about 1.75" at the highest point and about t a tear along the bottom of the first illustration and the title page. Both tears have the same dimension 1.75 inches at the highest point aby about 4". The remaining pages and illustrations (47 lively/enchanting) color plates by Margaret Tarrant) are in excellent condition. The covers are in very good condition for an antique book (we believe the date is 1921 as we have seen identical versions from the same publisher dated 1921)) Very slight shelf wear at corners; a bit more pronounced at top and bottom of the spine.. Numbered pages are followed by 12 pages of adverts for other children's book of the publisher.We will deliver book by priority mail to any continental U. S. location..

This is a 48 page pamphlet covered by two saddle-stitched boards serving as dust jackets, with the front board illustrated. There is no publication date. Only a 1939 copyright, which we assume corresponds to the publication date. Interesting recipes and very nice small illustrations by Kellum throughout the book.Pages, pamphlet covers, and wooden covers are all in excellent condition. The only fault we could fine is that the upper ribbon tie (the ties seem to be original with the book) is frayed and probably needs to be replaced.

This has to be an extremely rare first edition of this important historical archive. We have not found another edition of this book prior to 1880. The pages are readable and the illustrations in good condition. There is moderate foxing on most of the pages and moderate yellowing on a few of the pages. There is what appears to be light to heavy water stains on many of the pages. There does not appear to be any missing pages or tears on any of the pages . Front page wrinkled engraving of Pres. Lincoln has separated from the binding as has the covers. The cloth over board covers are heavily worn. However, the gold leaf work on the spine and the title on the spine are still visible despite some tears and separation along the spine.. The remaining pages appear to be tightly bound. On the last textual page and the last fly-leaf page there is an upside down stamp of the Southern Book Exchange of Hagerstown, Md. From the next to the bottom line of the title page, "Engraved by Thomas Piroli, From the Drawings in Pofsefssion [sic] of Thomas Hope, Esq. 1793" The last line lists the publisher/ printer and the date of printing as May 1, 1807. Pages are not numbered. We counted approximately 115 pages containing individual engravings. There is noticeable foxing on the first three pages and last four pages (including first and last fly leaf pages).. Remaining pages are clear or with light faxing. However the images on all these pages seem predominately clear of foxing. Pages are clear, without tears or marks. Plates are in very good condition over all. Both covers have been separated from the binding/ also first three pages and last four, each section bound together, have separated from the binding (separated as two separated sections). An excellent copy of this hard to find monograph edited by Marc Felix and focused on the ancient and tribal execution knives and derivatives of Central Africa. Slight shelf wear along cover edges. otherwise in 'as new' condition. Text in French, English, German and Dutch. With b&w photos and illustrations.

This is a complete, uniform, set of the 25 volume Author's National Edition. However, all the volumes are not first editions from the 1899 publication by Harper and Brothers. Thirteen of volumes are from the 1899 first edition publication. The remaining twelve volumes span the years 1901 - 1909. Condition of each book varies from Good to Very Good+. Pages on all the volumes are clear, without marks and overall without foxing (with only a few exceptions which have some light foxing). Book spines are all in good to excellent condition. We could not find any tears on pages except for a tear on the second page of volume xx (the page with the author's lithographed signature). All have a varied amount of shelf wear at the top and bottom of the spines. Otherwise shelf wear is very slight. Some have slight age toning.
