Minute trace of rubbing to lower fore-tips, otherwise fine. First edition. With illustrative matter based on art weavings by Sandra Brownlee-Ramsdale, and with chants and stories by Dennis Bernstein. Copy #2 of fifteen numbered copies, specially bound with an original woven spine, signed by Lehrer, and with a swatch of weaving depicting an animal tipped to the front pastedown. There was also a trade issue of 635 ordinary copies in wrappers. First Thus, the Finnish language edition of Tove Jansson's final, original book which was published in English as "Notes from an Island" in 2021. Written with her life-partner, Tuulikki Pietilä (who provides the striking illustrations) the book describes episodes from the many years spent at their remote summer cottage off the coast of Southern Finland and is a touching finale from these two great artists. Blue cloth with silver titles at the backstrip, pp. 102, a Presentation copy inscribed and dated to its recipients by Tuulikki ("in friendship") in the year of publication and signed simply by both "Tove" and "Tuulikki". A very pleasing copy of this attractive book.

El Sobrante, California:: Lisa Kokin,, 2021.. One-of-a-Kind. 8 x 6.5 x 1.5"; 12 leaves plus front and back covers. Materials: aluminum, wire. Bound with wire through reinforced holes in the edges of the leaves. Initialed and dated by the artist. Lisa Kokin: "Part of my 'Wordless Library' series, this book has unreadable 'text' made by puncturing the aluminum with a sewing machine without thread." The twelve leaves produce two text pages. The artist's punctures are made to the recto side of the aluminum sheet producing another image of the punctures on the verso. It is much along the lines of blind embossing. Kokin says "I am intrigued by text based work that uses asemic text, which is something that looks like text but isn't made up of actual words."
