The author was Piotr Feliksovich Maevsky (1851-1892). Significant edgewear to cover, internally sound with minimal tanning of paper. Owner's signature and oil spot on ffep (M. Kirshbaum?), another on end paper (V. Rikovshky?) with oaktree bookplate of Heino Ross. Spine sl. frayed at top edge, some insect damage to glued areas. The text contains keys to genera and species, generic descriptions and Russian and Latin names of genera and species, summaries of distribution (by local government region) and habitat, flowering times, and selected line drawings mostly showing both the whole plant and flowers or fruits. A compact yet comprehensive flora which went through several editions, a third (edited by B.
