Color illustratio ns/animations by Julian Wehr. This is a first edition with 7 animations that are animated by moving a paper tab back and forth (I understand that other later books of this one have fewer animations). Absolutely adorable! All of the tabs work and all of the pieces move, although two aren't "good as new". All pages are attached well to the red spiral binding. Nothing is scribbled on; no water marks. The tabs have surface soil/wear but each functions ok. Please note each animation and their condition: Animation 1 (Sambo with umbrella) - one leg is missing; the leg that is there has had some obvious repair. Illustrated with colour frontis, line vignette of a bunny on the title page and 30 fine colour plates by the Author throughout. A very good bright and clean copy. Original brown boards with white lettering (with a single dot in the centre of the "o"s in the title on the front board and the spine) and colour picture of Peter mounted to the blind stamped panel of the front board. Leaf patterned endpapers. Neat gift inscription, dated Xmas 1902, on the half title page. One small repaired tear (about a half inch), without any loss, to the lower inner margin of the frontispiece and some very minor thumbing to the bottom of the pages otherwise a lovely copy. Andrew Lang's Color Fairy Books, complete in twelve volumes, all first impressions of the first edition: Blue (1889), Red (1890), Green (1892), Yellow (1894), Pink (1897), Grey (1900), Violet (1901), Crimson (1903), Brown (1904), Orange (1906), Olive (1907), Lilac (1910). The volumes average in Very Good, with fading to spines, foxing, light edge wear, soiling, or rubbing, bookplates or previous ownership markings, and toning to pages. Tear to cloth at base of spine of The Blue Fairy Book; Inner hinges tender or exposed in the Lilac, Orange and Grey; Corner clipped from front free endpaper in The Lilac Fairy Book. A lovely set Andrew Lang's Color Fairy Books, beautifully decorated in ornate gilt stamping.

One of the hardest to find Seuss first editions. Written by Seuss using the pseudonym of LeSieg. 1st edition, 1st printing of number 19 in the Beginner Book series.Hardcover in VG condition with light tip wear and wear at top and bottom of binding. Dust Jacket has wear, chipping along top and bottom edge, a little age discoloration on inner top edge, a few indentations on front from pen or pencil pressure, and a small piece missing on bottom edge. No markings. Pages clean and crisp.

Now, excluding the impossible First Private Printings in Late 1901 & Early 1902 from the realm of possibility for we mere mortals, the First few Original Warne Trade Printings are one of my joys to study - and even more to Find! Most collector's know that the First few Warne Printings (late 1902 - mid 1903) were done with patterned leaf end papers and had 97 pages with all illustrations in Color (Private Printings were B&W). Slightest wear to corners and spine ends, else a remarkably fine copy in original color pictorial dust jacket (some minor wear along top and bottom edges). With a bookplate signed by the author, Roald Dahl, laid-in.
