Rare books from E. Crocker

A full run of the ICA from 1875 through 2012 lacking only one volume, XIV 1908 from the Vienna conclave. One hundred volume titles in all. The set has been collected over the course of 30 years. There are no facsimiles. As you see from the images, the condition of the volumes varies, but all content is present and clear. Thousands of papers on archeology, ethnology, anthropology, sociology etc. all pertaining to the indigenous tribes and colonial peoples of the Americas from distant pre-history to the present. Thousands of maps drawings and photographs. The Congress was begun in 1875 in Nancy, France and alternated every three years between a site in the Americas and Europe. Serious enquiries only, please. Softcover First Edition as issued in Good+ condition. xii+643pp. NOT Ex-library and NOT a facsimile. Wraps are slightly foxed on the margins of the front cover; interior bright and clean. All maps, photos and drawings intact; binding is tight but is cracked on the spine with all parts present and legible; edges rubbed and bumped, upper corner repaired with transparent tape; one foldout was apparently cut too long and the far edge is chipped and browned as indicated in the images; Morley's comprehensive study of the monuments and their inscriptions at the Honduran site of Copan, now a World Heritage Site. The volume is in remarkable shape with the foldouts appearing not to have been opened.

Hardcover First Edition 6 volumes, pp xxviii, 465; Vol. II, (xii), 607; Vol.III, (x), 493; Vol. IV, xii, 496; Vol. V, in 2 parts, containing black and white photographic plates, engraved plates (many folding), and folding maps showing ground plans, terrain, cross sections, etc. Folio, green cloth. Excellent condition and as such a rare find ; In Volume 5 part II, three of the plates (214, 215, 216) were neatly cut out, probably for an exhibit, but are re-inserted but loose. No damage of the images. V. IIIs back board has been bumped, as shown. Previous owners name in V. I, as shown. Some underlining on illustration list. Morley's study the Mayan monuments and heiroglyphic inscriptions, the result of nearly forty years of expeditions and research. This is a classic work in remarkable condition and a must for any serious student of Mesoamerica.
