The pages of the book are slightly toned around the edges but that is not unusual considering the type of paper used. All books are bubble-wrapped and carefully packed in a sturdy shipping container when mailed.

Gemstone Publishing, 2006. 4 vols. in slipcase. Very Good in Good slipcase. Slipcase shows shelf and handling wear with rubbed corners, edge wear, and light soiling. Four volumes: Crime Illustrated (Adult Suspense Stories), Confession Illustrated (Adult Romances), Adult Tales of Terror Illustrated (Horror and Suspense), and Shock Illustrated (Adult Crime Stories). All four volumes show very minor shelf and handling wear to their covers with some minor abrasion to the spines as well. Interiors are all crisp, clean, and pristine with no marks. In the gutter of every volume in both the front and the back there is a long thin adhesive bleed-through from production. Overall a clean, solid set showing minimal signs of use. New York: Open Road Integrated Media, 2014. Trade paperback. Fine. Very minor shelf wear to cover and tiniest bit of rubbing to rear corners, otherwise like new / unread. Gorgeous copy of a rare title. Photo is of the copy here at Barbed Wire Books.

First edition hardback, a Very Good copy with a long crease running down the middle part of the spine and traces of wear to cloth, front hinge just starting at bottom, slight bumping at head and heel and page blocks dusty, in a Very Good dust jacket with faint soiling to front and rear, a 1/2″ x 1/8″ chip at rear heel join, shallow chipping at head, and crease to top front corner. Inscribed twice by Smith (the first apparently with a fountain pen, the second with a ballpoint): "Clark Ashton Smith/Auburn, Cal/Nov. 27th, 1912" then "For Harry Rosenberry/with sincere compliments/of Clark Ashton Smith/Apr. 14th, 1961," which was exactly four months before his death. QUITE RARE IN THE ORIGINAL DUST JACKET Front dj panel states "Film Edition" Actor Douglas Fairbanks photo on back panel. DJ Spine is chipped. Now protected in a mylar wrap. Summary: The Thief of Bagdad is a 1924 American silent swashbuckler film directed by Raoul Walsh and starring Douglas Fairbanks, and written by Achmed Abdullah and Lotta Woods. Freely adapted from "One Thousand and One Nights", it tells the story of a thief who falls in love with the daughter of the Caliph of Baghdad.

First edition oversized (11 1/2" x 8 9/16") chapbook original, a Fine- copy with what looks like two very small stray fountain pen marks on either side of "and" on front cover (possibly from Smith), some mild phantom creasing along rear cover near spine, and a trace of edgewear, hand corrected (but not signed) by Clark Ashton Smith. Of the two copies of this that has passed through my hands, this is by far the nicer copy, and the handwritten corrections look just like the ones in my copy, so I feel confident in judging them to be Smith's. (Also, not all of them are the same as the ones in my copy.) Though1000 copies were printed, this is a fragile item, and I can't imagine that terribly many have survived at all, much less in such nice condition.
