London & NY: John Lane, April,1916. . Vol. 1, No. 1. The first issue of this short-lived periodical. Folio: 29 X 47.5 cm. 58 pages. Pictorial wrappers. This copy is disbound, with some wear to the spine. There is some moderate soiling and edge wear to the outer wrappers, and a closed tear partway across the front wrapper (not touching text or illustration); basically very good otherwise. Internally the sheets are all clean, with no stains or blemishes. Sensational grotesques by Austin Spare, several double-page; also art by Charles Ricketts, Frederick Carter, Frank Brangwyn, and others. Literary contributors include De la Mare & Yeats.

Wellington: George Didsbury, Governemnt Printer, 1880. Folio, 64 fine plates of botanical line drawings, with accompanying text pages (unpaginated), the lower corner is a little bruised throughout, the title page is very slightly frayed, there is slight faint offsetting on to two of the plates, later green cloth with red morocco label, very slightly worn. 1870 Vanity Fair ART Henry Bulwer Frederick III of Prussia Illustrated COLOR
A rare printing of the first volume of the Vanity Fair Album. Vanity Fair is best known for full-page, color lithographs of world celebrities and dignitaries including artists, athletes, royalty, , scientists, authors, and scholars. More than 2000 of these images appeared, and they are considered the chief cultural legacy of the magazine, forming a pictorial record of the period. According to author and editor Jehu Junior,

'The Freemason's Monitor' was a regularly published masonic treatise and handbook throughout the 19th-century. Originally published by Robert Macoy, it contained articles, essays, directions, hymns, and lodge descriptions by numerous contributors and writers. This particular Civil War-era issue was published in 1865 New York by Daniel Sickels. Macoy was a deputy Grand Master who wrote numerous books on freemasonry, rituals, and ancient religions.

Paris: Le Journal des Dames et des Modes, 1820. A lovely collection of 131 beautifully hand coloured fashion engravings from "‎Le Journal des Dames et des Modes de l'Empire..." Without any explanatory text. Each plate is entitled "Costumes Parisiens." The first plate is dated 12 (1803) the last is from 1830. The contemporary quarter leather binding has a deep red spine with gilt design and titles. red cloth boards. A little rubbing to both. Inside the plates are in good, clean condition, with a few foxing spots here and there. A very nice collection. Each plate is hand coloured. They measure 110 by 118mm (4¼ by 4¾ inches) The "Journal des dames et des modes" was inspired by the "Revue de La Mésangère". (Colas 1565; Lipperheide, zb 15; Hiler, 486). This is a wonderful copy of the first trade edition of 'Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens' which was the first featuring of Peter Pan in the book title. It has the original russet cloth with gilt titles to the spine and upper board, along with a decorative gilt illustration of Peter Pan riding a goat on the front board and a map of Kensington Gardens on the front free endpaper.

Critics were overwhelmed by the symbiosis of the writer J. M. Barrie with the at this time relatively unknown illustrator Arthur Rackham.
