Harris's ""Bible in Miniature"" was the second thumb Bible in England, preceeded only by the 1727 ""Biblia"" printed for R. Wilkin. This thumb Bible precedes that published in 1780 by Elizabeth Newbery and is ""superior to the frequently worn-out illustrations used by Newbery"" (Spielmann).
