This excellent souvenir photo album depicts the golf tourney hosted by the Youngstown Country Club in honor of Campbell’s (1854-1933) 72nd birthday in 1926. The opening photo depicts all the participants and dignitaries at the Country Club, followed by images of players on the greens. The 18-hole course was built on the 131-acre Holland Farm, and designed by Walter Travis, featuring a $ 60,000 Clubhouse, which was noted for elegance and model comfort. First edition of this well-illustrated catalogue detailing Ernest Hodgson’s “Tiny Homes” business in the early 1930’s, who had originally founded his business producing “Auto Stables” for automobiles in the Brass Era. His pre-fabricated small homes, bungalows, vacation homes, and Camps (cabins) were very popular with sportsman and vacationers across New England and the East Coast. This catalogue details the available heating systems, sizes, floor plans, and even garden furniture, equipment and birdhouses for prospective buyers which could be seen as outdoor exhibits in Dover and South Sudbury, MA. One large original poster, 20 x 30 in., colour lithograph (toning to fore-edges, couple minor closed tears neatly repaired on verso, minor chipping to corners, oxidization of paper on verso), still a remarkably bright copy with little sunning to the image retaining the original richness. First edition of this very popular poster executed by Haskell Coffin in 1918 employing the image of Joan of Arc to pull at the heartstrings of American women to buy War Savings Stamps for the war effort. Cecil B. DeMille’s 1916 epic film, Joan: The Woman had generated so much press coverage, and movie lovers that Joan of Arc had become a household name. War Savings Stamps were inexpensive, and after completing a booklet could be converted into War Bonds -- these drives funded two-thirds of the American war effort in World War I. Cleveland, OH: The Sherwin-Williams Co., [1935-1953]. Two vols. Thick 4to. [900; 1006 pp (sections & auto manufacturers separately paginated, supplements individually paginated).] The automotive finishes sections in both catalogues contains over 20,000 tipped-in original paint samples, most retaining the original tissue guards to protect the lacquer & varnish colour samples from rubbing and loss, many of the paint samples in the first volume were shaped as automobile silhouettes, but those were dropped in the re-issuing of the War Years paint samples in the 2nd volume which has overlapping dates, along with updated codes, overlays printed on many leaves indicating the changes, along with half-sheets. Descriptive catalogue & Color supplement preserving original colour softcovers, price lists, many leaves colour-printed, others preserving the colour-tinted, and perhaps 1/3 of the entire textblock was generated in typescript mimeograph.
