THOMAS LEO OGREN has a master's degree in agricultural science and is the creator of the Ogren Plant Allergy Scale (OPALS). He is a former landscape gardening instructor, nursery owner, and gardening radio show host. Ogren's interest in allergy-free gardening started because his wife, his mother, and his sisters all suffered from hay fever and asthma.
