Originally a communist, he became a right-wing nationalist. He was associated with the Fanfrolico Press in London, before setting up his own short-lived Mandrake Press. Upon his return to Australia in 1932, he established the short-lived Endeavour Press in association with Norman Lindsay and 'The Bulletin' magazine. This prize-winning biography will interest anyone learning about Australian cultural and political history. The author is a long-time publishing editor at the University of Queensland Press. SCARCE.
