About the author

MARTA COTTERELL RAFFEL is a lace maker who learned the craft over the course of ten years from some of the most skilled people in the field. She has published essays about Ipswich lace in Antiques and Civilization Magazine, and lectured on the topic at the Heard House in Ipswich, Massachusetts, the Peabody Essex Museum, and the Dublin Seminar, among others. Her research for this book was partially supported by the Great Lakes Lace Guild and the Chesapeake Region Lace Guild.

This Book is in Good Condition. The Softcovers have Light Surface Wear and some Edgewear, including Very Light Creases at the Fore Edge Corners and a Bump to the Head of the Spine and adjacent Top Edge of the Rear Cover which has caused a Very Small, 1/4" long Tear and associated Creases, but the Softcovers have No Stains or Other Major Damage. The Spine is Lightly Creased, but the Binding is still Strong and Intact. The Interior is Clean and Unmarked with No Writing, Highlighting, or Underlining and with Small Creasing to the Top Edge Margin of a Few Pages near the Rear Cover (caused by the Bump to the Softcovers) but No Tears, Stains, Mold, or Other Major Damage. The Page Edges have Light Bumping to the Top Edge but No Remainder Mark, Foxing, Stains, or Other Major Damage. Packed Securely and Shipped Promptly.
